Greetings from StMary mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic parish in Aboud - Palestine! I'm honoured to approach you requesting your help by financing our Annual Summer Camp for next July 2010Every year we organize our Summer Camp for all Christian Children of the village around 120 kids, boys and girls do participate from age 4 to age 16, and such camp is very important to heal our children from the Trauma that comes as a result of the conflict in Palestine between both parts Palestinians and Israelisintended summer camp for Aboud Roman Catholic parish covers the whole month of July and basically it's Catechism, besides fun through swimming courses, art, music, sport and hand worksThe camp is our chance to reinforce Christian values through various activities such as charity actions with the elderly in the village, social voluntary works to raise them on social commitment, church ministry, Bible study and hours of catechismAs for the fun part, it's mainly oriented towards healing the trauma, reinforcing gender education and equality, peach education, dialogue, culture and professional education through the hand works and the folkloric initiative with the local art and musicof our indirect objectives of organizing the summer camp is also providing some temporary jobs for the local Christian youth through helping as local volunteers for the whole month of July, we intend to assist 20 people with some pocket money for their commitment to help with the kids for the month of JulyIn such way we educate them on the voluntary work, with some preparation and training and in the same time we provide them with some job for the month and minimum wages to encourage them
The total budget of the summer camp is $ 20,300 , and our local contribution will be $5,000 through the management and staff who would offer their time completely as gratis volunteers, and the amount of funding needed for the summer camp is $15,300. The funding needed will cover the items as shown in the detailed budget as attachedWe will be grateful to you if you would consider funding our request for the summer campWe believe that you will be happy to help our Palestinian Christian Children, and will be happy with the fruits of such camp for the local church are ready to provide you with any information needed, and we are ready to commit towards all your requirements, and to submit to your office all official reports, receipts and be fully accountable to you for all the funding given to our Church for the summer camp.

: All Christian Children of the village of Aboud, both Catholics as well as Orthodox children for their parish doesn't organize any kind of activities and usually our parish does provide Catechism for the orthodox childrenWe are serving all school children from age 4 the kindergarten to the age of high school up to 16 years oldWe serve children of both gender boys and girls and one of our objectives of the summer camp is to empower girls, girls promotion and reinforcement , social dialogue between both gender

objectives:
is the main objective of the summer campCatechism will be provided basically through organized lessons and curriculum, besides to catechism classes, their will be also liturgical ceremonies, dialogue sessions, religious songs, and community services and charitable voluntary activities towards the sick and elderly people in the village

healing program: this is becoming a major issue in the Holy Land, most of our children suffer from the Trauma of the conflict, since they don't enjoy their childhood, no normal life, and they witness a lot of violence in their daily lifeThesummer camp provides them with some fun, joy and entertainmentVarious programs will be offered to all the children including: Music, art, folklore dances and songs, sport, swimming courses in a local swimming pool, hand art craftsAll these activities would also help in building their own self esteem, confidence as well as provide them with good alternative education in their summer vacation

and peace education: Such a goal is very important, and through the drama course, and voluntary actions such topics will be addressed, peace education, dialogue, social integration, mutual acceptance and cooperation, besides to many other social values will be addressed

creation: local young adults will be working with the children through paying them the minimum wages as pocket moneyOne month job will be offered and this would help the young people to pay their expenses, specially for college students, and will increase the family income

and location:The summer camp will be organize during the whole month of July, and most of the activities will take place within the parish campus in Aboud
